The law surrounding ADA compliance for websites is murky and in flux. Some lawyers say the whole requirement is on hold, while others state that the federal courts are mandating compliance, regardless of laws on the books. Since 2018 we offer the following:
- Review each page of your website and make sure all images, buttons, forms have their alt tags correctly filled out. One tip to know is that your Alternative Text field for an image should never have the words “image of” as part of the description.
- Review of your website using the WAVE web accessibility 2.1A evaluation tool to correct any errors found in the above details and assess warnings presented.
- Add a page to your website explaining your stance on Assistive Technology and ADA with a customized form that can be filled out by your viewers to alert you to any potential issues.
